She wanted to create a ring using both pieces that was practical for daily wear, and complimented her personal style. Cynthia loves jewelry and already has quite the collection, so it was important to design something very unique for this sentimental piece.
After going over different design options, Cynthia decided she liked this double band ring that would fit both emeralds and all of the diamonds from her mother's wedding set. Once Cynthia signed off on the CAD design, we used a 3D printer to print this wax model.
We removed the diamonds and emeralds from the original settings and then refined the gold. We then used the recycled gold to cast the new ring.
After casting and polishing, we set the stones into the new piece. We love the finished product!

V wanted a traditional diamond bangle bracelet that should could wear on any occasion, so the first bracelet we created was a classic hinged bangle. To add a customized look, we created a second bracelet with the letter "V" in the center to add a subtle personalization. These bracelets could be worn together for a stacked look or separately.
Once V approved the sketches, we got to work on the CAD designs.
After the CAD designs were finished, we printed wax models of the bracelets. Since it's difficult to size this style of bracelet, we also printed a plastic model so V could try on the bracelets prior to casting them in metal to ensure a perfect fit.
Once we confirmed the bracelets fit V's wrist, we proceeded with casting them in 14k white gold.
After casting, we polished and assembled the bracelets. These bangles featured a hinge to make them easier to take on and off the wrist. After assembly, the jeweler set the leftover diamonds into bracelets. The final step was to clean and polish the bracelets, and then we delivered them to V!

We recently partnered with Erin Sackman, creator of the lifestyle blog Style by the People, to reimagine a diamond ring that was given to her mother from her father. Erin loved the sentimentality of this ring, but since it didn’t quite match her style it wasn’t get much wear.
We sent Erin several different ideas to choose from, and she decided to create two pairs of earrings with the diamonds from the old ring.
After collecting some measurements, we created a computer aided design (CAD). The CAD allows us to preview the weight and precise dimensions of the final piece. We also used the CAD to print a wax model, which is the next step in the production process.
The wax models are printed with a 3D printer. These pieces will be used to cast the earring parts in metal. They’re printed and cast in separate pieces so the jeweler can assemble them after casting.
After casting, the pieces of the earrings are individually polished and assembled. After assembly, the diamond are set.
Two pairs of diamond huggie earrings!

Our design team at BA was thrilled to help! We imagined a design that echoed the original ring, but had a more polished, high fashion vibe. The new ring would also utilize more negative space to have the effect of a statement ring without being too heavy on Julia's finger.
After working with Julia to make sure our sketch lined up with her vision, we got to work on the CAD (computer aided design). This shows us the exact dimensions and weight of the ring, so we could make sure that it wouldn't be too heavy or large for Julia.
Once Julia approved the CAD, we moved forward with printing a wax model using a 3D printer.
The wax model is used to create a mould, which we use to cast the ring using gold from the original ring.
After casting, the ring is cleaned and polished. Finally, the diamonds we removed from the old ring are set into the new ring!
The new ring now has a modern, versatile look that Julia can wear all the time!

Baguette Atelier partnered with California lifestyle blogger Maxie Elise to redesign an old sapphire and diamond ring. The old ring featured several beautiful diamonds and a lovely deep blue sapphire, but the ring was in need of an update to better fit Maxie’s fun style.
We sent Maxie several sketches to choose from, and this starburst design was her favorite! The diamonds are used to frame the sapphire, which we flipped horizontally. This design will be a better fit on Maxie’s petite hand.
After we finalized the design and sketch, we created a CAD (computer aided design), which is a blueprint of the piece. This allowed us to see all of the dimensions of the ring, which was helpful in making sure the final ring wouldn’t be too large for Maxie’s hand.
Once Maxie approved the CAD, we printed a wax model of the ring with a 3D printer.
The wax model was then used to cast the ring into metal. We were able to recycle the gold from the old ring and use it to cast the new ring!
After casting, our expert jewelers set the diamonds and sapphire into the ring and gave it a nice final polish. Then it was ready to be delivered to Maxie!
It looks so good on her!

Baguette Atelier recently collaborated with lifestyle blogger and influencer Madeleine Raiford-Holland of Moderately High Maintenance to redesign a dated gold ring. The ring contained several lovely diamonds, but was large and bulky. Madeleine wanted a daintier look to better fit her modern style.
Our BA design consultant created several sketches based on Madeleine’s style for her to choose from. The new designs reduced the metal bulk and refocused attention to the modern lines of baguette shaped diamonds.
Once Madeleine chose the design she wanted, we created a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) using the exact measurements of the diamonds from the original ring. We sent the CAD to Madeleine so she could see exactly what to expect of the final ring before moving on to production.
Once Madeleine approved the CAD design, we used a 3D printer to print a wax model of the ring. We sent Madeleine photo updates as we completed production stages so she could watch the transformation of her ring!
The next step was to remove the diamonds and melt down the old ring. We used the recycled gold from the original ring to cast the new ring.
The last step was setting the diamonds into the new ring, then we gave it a final clean and polish. Madeleine’s dated, bulky ring now has a fresh and modern look that she can wear every day!

Lifestyle influencer and fashionista, Lani Ton-Nu, had a sentimental ruby and diamond bracelet passed down from her great-godmother. After being loved and enjoyed by two generations of women, Lani found the sentimental piece sitting in her jewelry box more often than being worn. Baguette Atelier was thrilled to work with Lani to convert this heirloom bangle into a piece that fits Lani’s style and can be worn on a daily basis!
Lani’s BA design consultant got to work sketching a beautiful necklace that would showcase the diamonds and rubies from the heirloom bracelet, and fit Lani’s updated style.
Once Lani approved the sketch, custom bezels were created in Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
The CAD was used to print wax models of the bezels that would eventually house the rubies and diamonds.
Next - we used the gold from Lani’s bangle to cast the bezels. The new, fashion forward necklace contains all the original materials!
Baguette Atelier artisans hand set and assembled the necklace for the final reveal!

Baguette Atelier collaborated with lifestyle influencer Ivana Jorgensen to turn a dated ruby and diamond bracelet into a bespoke ring that fits Ivana’s style! The vibrant red of the rubies would be the focus of the new design.
A BA Design consultant took Ivana’s style preferences and mood board, and created a sketch that would show off the marquise cut rubies in a modern way.
A Computer-Aided Design (CAD) was created using the exact measurements of the rubies and diamonds from the bracelet. Ivana approved the CAD before moving on to the next step!
The wax model was printed from the CAD, and we were able to give Ivana a sneak peek of what to expect from the final product!
And finally, the ring was cast and stones were set! Baguette Atelier recycled the gold from the original bracelet and recast it into this beautiful, stylish ring.

Our client, Lisa, wanted to create a special piece of jewelry for her aunt for her birthday! Lisa had an old ring of her grandmother’s, and decided to reimagine the ring to create a necklace her aunt could wear every day.
Originally, Lisa thought her aunt might love a pop of emeralds added into the design in a simple, bar style pendant.
Lisa and her personal design consultant decided to move away from the emerald bar look, and imaged up a unique, clean, hexagonal pendant that would be perfect for casual wear or a little black dress - a piece that would truly showcase the diamonds!
Next, BA jewelers removed all the diamonds from the ring to get exact measurements so the CAD could be created.
The CAD was then used to print the wax model:
The pendant was cast in white gold utilizing the wax model:
Diamonds were set, the pendant was polished - Voila! The special necklace was ready for Lisa to present to her aunt!
Baguette Atelier partnered with lifestyle influencer Jennifer Wilson of Jennifer G. Lifestyle to create an original necklace through our bespoke custom design experience. Jen envisioned a versatile, layerable necklace that she could incorporate into her daily wear. She sent over a sketch of her idea, and the team at Baguette Atelier started bringing her design to life!
Once we understood Jen’s design idea, Baguette Atelier created a computer rendering to be the blueprint of the necklace. Jen chose a classic cable chain to complement the petite gold bars.
Jen loved the initial rendering, so BA printed wax models of the individual bars that would be used to create the necklace.
The wax models were turned into gold castings, and ready to be set, polished, and assembled!
Expert artisans at our atelier hand set each diamond, polished every bar, and assembled the necklace to perfection. Here is the final product!

Baguette Atelier client, Kristin, recently welcomed her third child into the world and wanted a ring to represent her three beautiful children! Kristin lives a very active lifestyle, and wanted something that would hold up to daily wear on a farm. She also loves square stones, and wanted to incorporate the birthstones for January (garnet), September (sapphire), and December (blue topaz).
BA design consultants got busy sketching out different designs, and settled on the perfect balance of style and function. The stones would be bezel set and completely encased by metal for security. Kristin noted that she wanted the design to be more “imperfect” and not cookie cutter, so it wouldn’t be as noticeable if she scratched the ring. Note how our jewelers slightly rounded the corners and gave the ring a brush finish in the final ring, shown at the end!
After the design was decided, a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) was created. BA design consultants made sure the bottom of the band was wide enough to hold up to daily wear, but also be comfortable.
Next, the perfect stones were hand selected! To help with the cost, Kristin opted to use a lab created sapphire, alongside a natural garnet and blue topaz.
The ring was cast in sterling silver, and was ready for stones to be set!
Each stone was set by hand, and the bezels were rounded out to give the ring a more “imperfect” feel that Kristin requested. A brushed finish was added to the silver to help hide scratches!
In addition to redesign services, Baguette Atelier also offers custom design services. Our client had seen a diamond golf club pendant and wanted to have something similar created to suit his girlfriend’s style.
This a perfect example of a completely custom pendant created at our starting price point of $750!
First, we created a CAD of the design:
Utilizing the CAD software, we are able to add small details such as ridges on the club handles and lines on the golf club head. Next, the wax was printed:
Finally, the ring was cast in 14 Karat white gold and a 0.12 carat round brilliant cut diamond was set. This project took approximately 3 weeks to complete from start to finish!
There are many organizations/labs that certify diamonds - a diamond certification is a document that notes a diamond has been graded by an outside source, and lets the client know specific details of the diamond they are purchasing.
There are many organizations/labs that certify diamonds - a diamond certification is a document that notes a diamond has been graded by an outside source, and lets the client know specific details of the diamond they are purchasing.
A debate has broken out as weak and incorrect diamond certifications have infiltrated the market. How do you know what you’re buying if the certificate is incorrect? Working with a diamond professional will help answer questions and alleviate concerns you may have about purchasing a particular diamond - make sure to have an expert your side!
A respected, well-known lab is GIA - the Gemological Institute of America. GIA is a nonprofit institute that has been in action since 1931 - their grading has become the benchmark for certification standards. While diamond grading can be a little subjective, GIA is very consistent in their system and produce reliable certifications.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a diamond that is not certified by GIA - it’s still a diamond! You just cannot compare it “apples to apples” with a GIA certified stone. The grading could be correct, but it could also be 4 grades off GIA standards, depending on the lab and what kind of day the particular grader was having when he or she looked at the diamond.
Some clients choose to purchase non-certified or non-GIA certified diamonds. If you are working with a trained diamond professional, often times you can find huge value and great deals on non-certified/ non-GIA certified diamonds. If you purchase one of these diamonds, make sure to have a proper appraisal respected by your insurer in case you ever need to replace your diamond.
Baguette Atelier client, Pat, had 2 rings she inherited from her aunts, and a diamond she received from her father. She wanted to create a ring and a solitaire pendant that she could wear every day. Pat also mentioned she’d like to have a few pairs of simple stud earrings for her nieces.
Often times, clients have heirloom jewelry that are sentimental but sit in a box unworn because the style isn’t quite right. In this case, the BA team took these unused, vintage rings and created clean, bold, modern jewelry that Pam and her family can enjoy on a daily basis!
Pat preferred white gold, so we weighed the gold from her original rings and gave her credit towards the new jewelry. Check out what we created with Pat’s diamonds!
Our client, Sandra, inherited her parents wedding rings - her mother’s diamond set, and her father’s classic gold band, pictured below:
Sandra wanted to make a special heirloom ring to give to her sister. She requested a ring that was sturdy enough to wear every day, and that would not be mistaken for a wedding band. Something wide, and something with texture. The Baguette Atelier design team got to work and created the following design with Sandra’s guidance:
Sandra knew her sister would love the design, but wondered what to do with the remaining diamonds from the wedding set. Baguette cut diamond wouldn’t look right in the new, wide band, so the BA design team suggested petite stackable bands for Sandra’s 5 daughters. Sandra loved the idea!
Now that the designs were perfected, we printed wax models that are used to cast the rings in gold:
The artisans at Baguette Atelier carefully melted the gold from the rings together, so the bands are now eternally entwined. We added fresh gold to the mix, and used this metal mix to create all 6 bands. Now each family member has part of both rings in their own heirloom. Here are photos of the rough castings. (Pre diamond setting/polishing)
And finally, diamonds are set, the rings are polished, and we engraved the inside of each new ring with Sandra’s parents initials and wedding date!!
Our Client, Angela, inherited a stunning emerald and diamond ring from her mother. Baguette Atelier worked to come up with a design she could incorporate into her everyday wear.
Our Client, Angela, inherited a stunning emerald and diamond ring from her mother.
Angela has a cool, modern style and wanted to update the ring into something that would match her wardrobe. Baguette Atelier worked to come up with a design she could incorporate into her everyday wear. After perusing an idea board created just for Angela by a BA Consultant, she chose the following ring as inspiration for her new design.
Next, Baguette Atelier designers got to work creating a CAD design that would utilize 100% of the original materials - stones and metal. Angela prefers heavier jewelry, so we took this basic design and added weight for security and style. CAD below:
In order to ensure the design was perfect for such a sentimental piece, we created a rendering, which is a more realistic view of the design for Angela to approve:
Now that we had the design confirmed, it was time to get started creating the ring. First step - a wax model is printed:
We melted down the metal and added more platinum to the mix. The ring was cast using the metal mix from the original ring. All the stones from the original ring were then set by hand into the new casting. Voila!
As a finishing touch, we engraved Angela’s mother’s name into the inside of the shank of the ring to honor it’s original owner. Now, Angela can wear and enjoy her mother’s ring every day!
Our client, Annette, inherited several Montana Agate slices from her late Uncle. Baguette Atelier was tasked with the important job of cutting and polishing the agates, and creating custom silver pendants for the cut stones. Our BA stone cutter suggested a smooth cabochon cut to enhance the beauty of the stones. Pictured below are before and after photos of the Agate Slices. Notice the faint outlines of oval shapes on some of the rough stones - Annette’s uncle drew these markings and it was incredibly significant that we were able to take his guidance and execute the project as he intended!
Once the agates were cut to perfection, the team at Baguette Atelier got to work and designed a classic bezel pendant. First, we created a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to present Annette and ensure she loved the design - and she did!
Next, we used the CAD to print a wax model. The wax model is used to cast the silver pendants. We cast the bale and the stone setting in two pieces and then attached them with a ring to allow movement when the pendants are worn.
The stones are set, the metal is polished, and we have beautiful pendants ready to enjoy!
Our client, Mark, wanted to propose to his now wife, Anna. He knew she was knowledgable about jewelry, and didn’t want to guess what style she wanted. He decided to propose to her with a diamond solitaire, and let her custom design her dream ring afterwards!
Austin found an amazing necklace for his girlfriend while traveling in Prague. He bought the original piece from a gypsy, who told him it was from the 1920's. It was an open spider design in 18 karat yellow gold with a small oval shaped ruby in the middle. Unfortunately, the pendant was lost, but fortunately, Austin had good photos and Baguette Atelier got to work!
The first stab at the CAD wasn’t quite right. And that’s OK! BA fixes the design until it’s perfect. Version One: The legs were textured, and Austin wanted smooth. The spider “fangs and nose” needed to be rounded out a bit, and the “nose” needed to be disconnected from the pendant frame. Below are versions 1 and 2. Nailed it on version 2!!
Next, we printed a wax model of the pendant:
Then, on to casting in metal! Austin chose to work with 14 karat yellow gold for the new pendant:
