Diamond and Sapphire Ring Makeover with Maxie Elise

Baguette Atelier partnered with California lifestyle blogger Maxie Elise to redesign an old sapphire and diamond ring. The old ring featured several beautiful diamonds and a lovely deep blue sapphire, but the ring was in need of an update to better fit Maxie’s fun style.

We sent Maxie several sketches to choose from, and this starburst design was her favorite! The diamonds are used to frame the sapphire, which we flipped horizontally. This design will be a better fit on Maxie’s petite hand.

After we finalized the design and sketch, we created a CAD (computer aided design), which is a blueprint of the piece. This allowed us to see all of the dimensions of the ring, which was helpful in making sure the final ring wouldn’t be too large for Maxie’s hand.

Once Maxie approved the CAD, we printed a wax model of the ring with a 3D printer.

The wax model was then used to cast the ring into metal. We were able to recycle the gold from the old ring and use it to cast the new ring!

After casting, our expert jewelers set the diamonds and sapphire into the ring and gave it a nice final polish. Then it was ready to be delivered to Maxie!

It looks so good on her!
